Scholar-in-Residence Program
The new grant from Ford Foundation provides funds for inviting 4 distinguished scholars every year from South Asia (excluding India) in the areas of humanities and social sciences to visit the Centre for a period of one month. Apart from consulting the Centre’s library for his/her research work, the visiting South Asia scholar will get the opportunity of interacting with the students and teachers from M. S. University of Baroda and other neighboring universities on topics of his/her interest. The fellowship is meant to foster cultural understanding between India and its neighbors and to create a climate for intellectual linkages between the countries. The Forum will pay for the scholar’s airfare and a maintenance allowance of Rs. 30,000/ per month for a senior scholar with a Ph.D. and Rs. 20,000/ for a junior doctoral student. Applications are invited from interested scholars along with their curriculum vita and research proposals throughout the year.
