Proposal to revive the Publication of Journal of Contemporary Thought
Dear Life Member of FCT:
As you may already know, Forum on Contemporary Theory stopped the publication of Journal of Contemporary Thought after bringing out two Retrospective Numbers, No. 45 (Summer 2017) and Number 46 (Winter 2017). The first was focused on the topic “New Directions in Literary Studies”; the second on “New Directions in Social Science Studies.” It was difficult to continue its publication because of lack of financial support and also for our inability to find a group of scholars among FCT’s life members willing to undertake the responsibility of continuing its publication and circulation. Some of our members have expressed interest in helping us in its revival. We will discuss this proposal at the next meeting of the General Body (AGM) of FCT scheduled to be held at Don Bosco Institution, Guwahati, Assam on December 20, 2022 at 2.00 pm. This event will be during our 25th International conference to be held there (20-22 December). We will send out soon the Call for Papers for the conference separately.
As FCT has been facing acute financial crisis for some time and there is hardly any possibility for getting grants from overseas agencies now, we will depend upon for our subsistence on your support. As stakeholders of the institution you have joined as members, your support and contribution will go a long way in meeting our urgent financial needs.
If some of you are willing to be members of the Editorial Board of the Journal and to help us in the revival of the Journal, please send me a letter expressing your interest, along with brief bio-notes as soon as possible. We will place the proposal to the General Board and come to a decision. If you are not able to come to the conference in Guwahati, we will still consider your expression of interest and take appropriate decision.
